Hole 18 at the Homestead at Fox Hollow is a 199 yard par three with an elevated tee box and a slightly elevated green. With the in the back, it was playing 217 yards (a guy in our group had a rangefinder). We had moderate wind at our back, and after factoring in a the elevation change I decided to try to force a 7-iron in there (normal 7-iron yardage: 170-180, hard maybe 185).
I swung hard, hit it clean, and pushed it 5 yards right… and carried it about 5 yards long! I don’t care how much wind or elevation change there was, a 220+ yard 7-iron just isn’t part of my game. I’m still flummoxed.
The problem is now, that when you’ve got a seven iron shot, something in the back of your mind will be saying “I hope I don’t hit this over two hundred yards again”
😆
you make me sick. i’d call you a liar, but i can’t do it with conviction. let the hatred and envy fester for another 2 years…. nice shot, jerk.
