My AirPort Base Station is fried – all three light flashing amber at once (reset does nothing, etc. – also noted here Jan 30, 2001). Our power went out Friday and when it came back on, it must have spiked and fried the AirPort. It was one of the old graphite models, and I wasn’t able to VPN through it anyway so I hope replacing it will fix that. Besides, I hope to have an AirPort Extreme capable machine later this year. 😎

I found this site that explains how to fix it – I was surprised to see the Lucent card inside. I may try to salvage the card and see if it works in a laptop.
