Proteus is my best bet for a Mac multi-client now, though it does not support file transfer yet.

A newcomer on the scene is Adium (www.adiumx.com) , which is still in alpha, but from the alpha versions it looks like it's really going to kick a**

I think I tried Proteus a year or more ago, I should give it another shot. Especially since Fire doesn't seem to like to connect to some of the protocols through a firewall.

Have you tried Proteus? I like the UI better than Fire, but both tend to be slightly buggy. Development on Proteus seems to have slowed down big time.

Also, I've heard rumors that iChat 2.0 will support multiple services (crossing fingers and toes - doing rain dance - tossing salt over both shoulders).

Thanks for the 'Fire' link, I've been looking for a Trillian-like client for OS X!
