photos 4.0b3 released

Posted in: Photos

I’ve released photos version 4.0 beta 3. I expect this will be the final 4.0 beta. This release adds a couple of nice features. The IPTC import functionality is the biggest change. I’ve added a note to the photos documentation detailing the way it works.

The IPTC import is something that I added because it was requested - if you are one of the people who wanted this feature (or one of the other added features), please consider making a visit to my donation page.

Here are some of the other changes.

  • Added height/Width to information shown in the ‘More’ pane
  • View IPTC Info pop-up window
  • Link to show already entered photo records (in photo exists in database error message)
  • Drop down on lists to switch between Contact Sheet and List View

    Hello.

Would first off like to say thanks for all your great dev work. Some day I hope I can u via donation or programming skills, but am lacking in both at this time.

I also have a question. I have a Canon PowerShot G3 and the function for reading the IPTC & EXIF data appears not to work. The question is how could one fix this?

Thanks once again and look forward to your response.

Neither of those functions require any special PHP modules (anymore) so they should work. Make sure the temp directory is writeable. I emailed you directly, so reply to that or post in the Yahoo Group for further discussion if needed.
