photos 4.0 released!

Posted in: Photos

I’ve released photos 4.0! Come and get it. :)
There is a long list of changes from the previous full release (gallery 3.21). I’m glad to finally get this out the door. As you can see, lots of hard work went into this. I hope you like it. Please consider making a donation if you are using it and finding it useful.

I’ve updated the screenshots to show reflect the changes in 4.0.

Adding support for multiple users will probably come in the 5.0 time frame. In the interim it is easy to install multiple instances in the same database if you want to - one for each user.

I don’t have category fields because I don’t feel they are necessary. Use the keywords instead, I think it serves the same purpose and you don’t have to manage the category list. I’m not totally against it, so I might add categories at some point if I get a good bribe.

I don’t plan to use a templating system for the UI.

Now I know where is problem! I’m thinking about using your script remote and therefore there should be a login page and template base UI and…

Yes as a local web application we don’t need login page or template based UI. BUT for remote applications you should add more things.

For now, I recommend using .htaccess security on a remote machine.
