		<description>A couple of reasons actually. One was reading people&#039;s complaints about MT in their blogs around the time I was picking a blogging engine. 

The biggest reason was that I wanted to use a PHP based system instead of a PERL based system since I am more comfortable hacking in PHP.

At the time, b2 was petty much the best PHP/MySQL blog in town so I ended up using that.

WordPress is the official branch of b2. I&#039;ve been on as a contributor to WordPress for a few months now. I like the direction it is taking and (as such) feel very comfortable using it.</description>
