After one year…

Posted in: alexking.org

My site has been up for just over a year. I launched the alexking.org site on November 1, 2002. When I launched the site, I hoped I might get a small audience but I never expected to average over 1000 visits a day in the first year (365,000+ visits), three mentions on Slashdot, over 50,000 downloads of my software or 50+ donations!

I had a couple of goals for the site when I decided to build it:

  • Share the software I was writing.
  • Meet some interesting people.
  • Have a way for my friends to keep up with what is going on in my life.

Mission accomplished.

It has been a very interesting and rewarding experience so far; thanks to all of you for coming to the site and sharing your ideas and feedback.
