I posted a quick and dirty feature comparison chart to show the differences between tasks 1.8.6 and the upcoming Tasks 2.0 and Tasks Pro™ 1.1 releases.
Capsule, The Developer’s Code Journal
I’m very pleased today to announce the release of Capsule, the developer’s code journal. Capsule replaces the scratch document you have…
Spiff.
It is a great chart, but you have a bit of a naming / branding problem because of your versioning – it looks like the premium product isn’t as recent or updated as the personal product.
You might consider making this Tasks Pro a 2.0 release – it goes against engineering sense, but makes perfect marketing sense, and I suspect your installed base would be ok with it. I once read a deposition of Bill Gates about the versioning of DOS, where the lawyer asked him what the rationale was for point releases vs. whole number releases. He had a one word answer: marketing.
You might also want to play with the naming a bit to make the distinction clear – how about “Multi -Task” for the multiuser product or “Personal Tasks” for the personal tasks.
Hope these comments are useful.
Thanks,
Perhaps, but I’m not a big corporation and I think I’d blow some credibility capital by doing something like that.
