Puppy

Posted in: Dog, Photography

We put down a deposit on a Miniature Australian Shepherd puppy last night. She’s a blue merle, and should look a bit like her mom.

We’ll be bringing her home in October when she’s about 10 weeks old, so we have time to get the house in order.

We’re still working on a name. :)

I have a sheltie, another herder breed - make sure you figure out a way to control the barking! They are bred to be herders so barking is part of their nature - start early. I hear that clicker training is excellent especially because these types of dogs are so darn smart.

I had an Aussie for about 2.5 years, she was the best damn dog ever. Unfortunately, she was killed in February. She would have been 4 this Sunday. She was a very smart and extremely loyal dog; never once did she growl or raise a lip to me. And frisbee, man was she awesome! Actually, she would literally fetch anything. Dogs truly are the best friends a person can have. Enjoy your new buddy, I look forward to reading about her and seeing lots of pix.

    Stumbling Puppy
