Bootstrap Denver

Posted in: Development

A friend of mine in Austin pointed me to Bootstrap Austin. I think it sounds like a pretty cool idea and I’d like to participate in something like this in the Denver/Boulder area. I registered bootstrapdenver.org bootstrapdenver.com1 as a first step - anyone else out there in the Denver area that would like to see something like this happen?

  1. I let bootstrapdenver.org lapse and some domain squatter in India grabbed it, so now I’ve got the .com instead. [back]

Wicked cool. I know I’d point links at it to help it get Googled.

I live in a city full of bootstrappers. The chic thing to do here is work in an industry for a while and start your own 8A company.

I’ve been in Denver for a couple of years now but haven’t been able to find anything like this since I’ve been here. I’ve started a couple of businesses in TN and I have friends who have been bootstrapping for a while out here.

I’d be willing to help this effort out and could probably find some others if you’re interested.

I think this is a great idea. There’s currently an organization in Denver similar to this called the ‘Colorado Internet Keiretsu (www.cik.org)’. However, the more the better.

$200/year is a little spendy. From the web site, that seems more angled towards larger companies.

I had lunch this week with Mike, a fellow Denver area bootstrapper. He’s got a web design and hosting company for any of you looking for those services in the Denver area.

I have a friend who is also in Bootstrap Austin. I was telling people at BarCamp Boulder about the Bootstrap Network. I think we should start a group like this. If interested, contact me. I have all the info on the group. 7205624083
