When I was working for a BigCo in a former life, I generally abhorred writing functional specs. Now as a consultant, I’ve chosen to write one and I’m quite enjoying it.

Perhaps it is because I have more freedom and responsibility in this role – or perhaps I accidentally gained an appreciation for the usefulness of a spec.
