I played about six innings of real live baseball today. I met a fellow out here who plays on a 28 years old and over men’s league and I got a chance to play with them today. I hadn’t played real baseball in over a decade and I definitely had a little rust. Fielding a baseball is a lot different than fielding a softball; I think it’s time to buy a new hardball glove too.
I played a few innings at shortstop, one in center field and one at third base and got two plate appearances. I actually got a hit in my first at bat (little poke into right-center field) and walked on 5 pitches in the second at bat.
I may have a chance to join this team (or another in the league) - it sure would be fun, but also a big time commitment.

There’s nothing as satisfying as reliving some boy hood baseball—of course social yet still competitive *age* and over leagues are always a great experience. Then again one of my recent articles shy’s against the Big Leagues as a whole and granted I’m only 23 but I imagine once I reach those age requirements of “old-timer (heh)” leagues I’ll pick up my bat and ball… as for now I have other stuff to do.
It’s a big time commitment of course but what isn’t these days? It’s recreation, exercise, fun, and social all in one. Plust might offer some interesting stories to post about eh?
