I reckon you've seen this, Alex, but the full fury of the new server clustering at Audioscrobbler is now unleashed ... I'm getting Top Artists and Top Tracks updates every couple days now, where I used to wait weeks. You can see that they munch data much faster now.

I just started using Audioscrobbler a few weeks ago. While I like the potential, it's been really slow with updates (with a lot of complaints in the forums regarding this). I like pooling stats from my work and home computers, but unless they iron out these kinks (hey, it's updated today, which is good) I may give up.

I'd look at Goombah, but I hate iTunes.

Audioscrobbler has been down off and on all week. They've replaced or repaired a couple of servers, though, so supposedly things should start picking up. I've been using it for several months, and I love it. I've never tried Goombah, though.

According to last.fm :

We are finally switching to clustered profile DBs (01/04/05 11:26 GMT):
Audioscrobbler.com is already back as it uses this stuff a bit less. The radio / neighbour / recommendation functions here need a bit more work we expect to be back either tonight or tomorrow night, depending on how much RJ can do today. stay tuned, we will be back, and faster.

It's already been 10 days - I guess they'll get to it when they get to it.

audio scrobbler suffers from a lack of resources to process all the data it collects, apparently. They usually generate sts and suggestions once a week, so give them a couple more days.

also check out music mobs
