When buying a mattress, I highly recommend that spend at least 10-15 lying on your side in the store (if you ever sleep on your side). If you just lie on your back in the store, you might well get a mattress that is too firm then have shoulder and neck pain after sleeping on it for a week; and have to exchange it.

I should’ve done this. The matress is already 18 months old though, so I can’t exchange it.
I’m learning to sleep on my back.

Has anyone bought and used a “Tempur-Pedic Mattress? What are their feeling on it.

I have been mattress shopping myself and a friend told me she & her husband bought a Tempur-Pedic but really wish they hadn’t. It became too soft, lost the support they needed for back problems and it began to smell funny. She later found out that her chiropractor does not recommend the TempurPedic.

Tempurpedic Mattress adds this Comment:
In response to Carla’s comment, there are several strengths and densities of memory foam. Tempurpedic, though the first to make this, isn’t the best at what they do. They have an inferior product to quite a few other memory foam mattress makers. If she got a mattress that is now too soft and smells funny she should definitely consider a refund. Our mattresses carry a 20-year guarantee against this type of thing.
