We pushed up a new version of FeedLounge today. I’ve been lending my detail oriented1 eye to the QA process in this release and I’m quite pleased at the progress we’re making.
I feel like this release ties up pretty much all of the loose ends we still had floating about, and we can now switch our focus to adding more great new features.
For all of you eagerly awaiting the beta release, your patience is appreciated. We’re working to get suitable hardware set up so that you will have a positive experience right out of the gate.

I’m not going to lie and say I’m not eagerly awaiting it
but no worries, I’d rather see you get it set up and done right the first time instead of releasing it to a huge userbase and realizing suddenly you had some huge error. Things always get more complicated as more users come on.
So … relax, you’re doing good

It’s not getting the software ready I’m concerned about (plus bug fixes are easy to roll out in a hosted service) – really we could probably release right now from a feature perspective and people would be pleased. The bigger concern is making sure we’re set up to scale to meet the demand we’re already seeing.

I’m “patiently” waiting, because I’d rather be a beta user for a service that will run well on the right hardware instead of getting to see all of the bells and whistles on a box that can’t support the # of users. I’ve been waiting a few months for a good online feed reader service (ever since I stopped being able to access Bloglines at work), so a little longer won’t kill me. Keep us posted!

As an alpha user, I’ll say that you’ll definitely be happy when this thing goes beta, as will I.

I’m also looking forward to FeedLounge, but would rather you guys get a good hardware setup first, rather than releasing due to a ton of people banging on the doors.
Geof – I envy your alpha user status.
