Modular Reports for iTunes Stats

Posted in: Music, Development, Software

It occurred to me that if I really wanted people to contribute reports for iTunes Stats, I should make it a little easier to build the reports separately. I’ve posted a new version that takes a step in that direction, and includes 4 sample reports.

Download version 0.2 beta.

Reports are now individual files in the ‘reports’ directory. Each has a header block (similar to a WordPress plugin) where you specify the name, description, etc. All reports in the reports directory are shown in the reports list on the Home screen.

Ok, now go make some cool reports!

Nice work Alex. I didn’t know how much I liked PJ Harvey and the White Stripes.

Well, I did, really, but I didn’t admit it to myself until I saw the cold hard stats…

Last month I embarked on a similar project, wherein I constructs history of playlists, playtime, etc. automatically.

I intend to use some inference (AI approach) to make some fun things with it. E-mail me if you are interested in discussing.
