I ordered mine a week before Adam did1, but he got his today and I’m still waiting for mine to ship.
It was supposed to ship “by” today, but doesn’t look like it did. No e-mail yet notifying me of a delay either… frustrating.
The only reason I can think of that he got higher priority is that he was able to order through an employee directly (25% off) while I was slumming with the friends and family program (15% off). 
I keep reading reports about the Quad shipping early to people too - and the Apple store lists the ship time for new orders at 7-10 days. Seems reasonable to expect it to be on a truck soon.
UPDATE: I got an e-mail this morning with the following:
Due to an unexpected delay, we now anticipate shipping the following item(s) as follows:
PMG5 QUAD 2.5 CTO will now ship on or before 12/07/2005
We regret any inconvenience this delay may cause.
Apple allocates product to employee orders only after filling consumer and education orders.
Arghh!
