Testing New Ads

Posted in: alexking.org

Based on Mark’s recommendation, I’m trying out a new ad service: Text Link Ads1. I signed up yesterday, but don’t see any ads yet - perhaps they haven’t sold my site yet.

Anyway, I put the code in the sidebar under the Yahoo! ads on the home page only - we’ll see how they do when they show up. I’m particularly interested in new ads services since we’ll need something for FeedLounge in the future.

  1. This is a referral link - if you sign up, I get something… I think. [back]

They get dwarfed by the Yahoo ads, which are much larger thanks to their descriptions. I also kinda ignored them thinkin they were the “Ads by Goooogle” footer you see on Adsense ads.

Maybe putting them at the top of the far right column or below navigation in the far left column would work better. Heck, even between “alexking.org” and the style buttons in the header would work with suck tiny ads.

I just sold my first ad using text-link-ads.com. I’m interested to see what it looks like and how well it does.
