Can someone explain to me why (most) companies don’t make their TV commercials available on their web sites? If they’re spending big bucks to get them on TV and in front of as many eyeballs as possible, why wouldn’t they want folks to be able to view them as easily as possible?

From time to time there is a good commercial that I want to show someone¹, and it’s always a pain to track it down.
