Montastic

Posted in: Technology

I’ve started using Montastic as a backup monitoring system for FeedLounge and a primary monitoring system for this server.

So far, I’m rather impressed. The implementation is simple and easy, yet hits the features one really needs. Check it out.

It does indeed look like a nice (basic) monitoring service… best of all, it’s free.

Their FAQ claims they check at least every 10 minutes to see if a site is up. Have you found their notifications to be timely enough to be of use? What I’m getting at is: With so many FL users, do you find out that your site is down from them or Montastic first?

Actually, the “free” part is one of my biggest concerns. To be useful, they have to stay in business.

I guess next time a site goes down, we’ll find out which is faster.
