Hey Alex and previous commenters. I stumbled on this old message while posting a blog with some related issues an thought I'd leave a link to that post (9/9/06). The great tunes will outlast the ads, I assure you. But in the meantime, as I say in the blog, everytime we hear one of these classics, we are forced to visualize the product, which is of course the point, and the pain.

I hate hearing this song abused in this way. I'm going to write to Chase and tell them to stop stealing cherished songs that I suppose, they hope will impress brain-dead baby boomers.
Likewise, I'm pissed off at Bob "Sell Out" Dylan for selling this immortal songs to banks.

At least there are some people that this to.

I just saw that commercial and found your blog on Google. Oddly enough, I was thinking the same thing.
"Who the **** came up with that?"
I agree with Vince...I have even less respect for MJ now, if that's possible.

I've been boycotting Nike for...well, at least 10 years now, because they used Revolution in one of their commercials. As an avid runner, I used to buy a lot of Nike products too, but after they started airing that commercial, I've never bought a Nike product again and never will. Same goes for Michael Jackson, who owns the Beattles songs [but considering i don't like his music anyway, that's an easy boycot!].
