Just to let you know: Overall, I like the tagging implementation pretty well. There are a couple of things that annoy me and a few other comments I'd like to make. Hopefully I'll finish that draft forum post sometime today... Just don't go crazy and release yet. :)

Chris W - sorry, we can't upgrade accounts individually at Use Tasks.

Kerim - Sorry I wasn't clear. I'm specifically looking for feedback on the tagging implementation - the Beta Discussion <a href="http://www.kingdesign.net/forums/">forums</a> are the right place to post.

Well, I thought tags would bring me back to Tasks from KGTD ... but I've switched back to KGTD again. Tasks is great, I think it is probably the best solution for someone who needs to move between computers - but I ran Tasks on localhost and the slow speed of PHP/Mysql on my iBook compared with a Cocoa App like KGTD was a big reason for my decision not to switch back. Another was the ease of use of Quicksilver with KGTD. I still think Tasks beats KGTD in a number of ways - for instance, KGTD doesn't really offer anything like the "magic sort" view of the Tasks home page, or the "sortable" page, or even the upcomming page (although hopefully the "next action summary" will return in a future version). Similarly, contexts are not the same things as tags. There is no way to assign more than one context in KGTD the way one can assign multiple tags in Tasks. But, in the end, the real killer for me was the ability to have true two-way sync with my Palm. It is a pain - since I have to run both iSync and KGTD sync - but it kinda works. Finally, a bug in PHPiCalendar meant that Chinese was not displaying properly in iCal, which meant that it didn't work for me.

Tasks is a great product, but picking the right tool has a lot to do with how you will actually use it.

I would evaluate it, and give feedback if my account at UseTasks were upgraded to the current beta. I understand that that might not be easy, but I am waiting for tags to be implemented before I really begin to use UseTasks, so I have a very high motivation as an evaluator.
