I’m not exactly sure when it happened, but as of Version 2.0.4 (419.3), my JS Quicktags (example page) seem to work in Safari. Yay!

Great! Does this mean that the quicktags in the WordPress admin work as well? (Don’t have a Mac, therefore no Safari…)
And, just out of curiousity, why is the post slug “safari-cursor-aware”?

I can’t think of any reason they wouldn’t.
Because Safari’s JavaScript engine is now cursor-aware.

Fabulous. I love Firefox, but I’ve learned to love it.
How did you stumble on this?
To be honest, I hadn’t registered that you had written the quicktags js: infinitely more flexible and adaptable than the wysiwyg editor. Thanks.

I use Camino - great Mac interface with all the power and reliability of Gecko (the Firefox rendering engine).
I actually discovered it by accident while using one of the buttons testing Tasks Pro.

Cursor-aware as in it respects the “cursor” CSS keyword?

I don’t think CSS implementation and Javascript implementation crossover. Safari’s CSS leads the pack pretty much, but the Javascript engine always seems to lag… always last in line for GoogleMaps, Zillow, and the like.

The dont seem to work in Safari in the Wordpress Admin.
I did an upgrade to 2.0.4 and tried everything i could think of, uploading your new tags, on and off with the WYSIWYG editor and so on. still no buttons in Safari.
Am I doing something wrong or is this just the way it is?

LG,
Because of the old problem WordPress disabled the buttons in Safari by checking the browser. This code remains even though the buttons now work.
If you are comfortable in php you need to edit admin-functions.php. See:
http://trac.wordpres[...]/ticket/3051
for more details.
