Performancing Ads

Posted in: alexking.org

I signed up for the new Performancing ads to test them out. You’ll see them in the sidebar under the Google ads (which you may or may not have greasemonkey’ed out). ;)

I’m not sure I like having graphical ads (these seem big), and I don’t yet have a “price” from them so the ads may be short-lived. Feedback is welcome.

I’m in the same boat as you. I want to test these ads out but above all else I hate big ads. I guess we’ll see how it works out over time.

On my current monitor they appear “below the fold”, so they’re barely there. And your placement of them on the side keeps their impact very minimal.

It will be interesting to see what the actual ads look like once they are published, because the advertiser uploads their own 125×125 ad image. The number of ads disaplyed will also be interesting, since you can opt to have up to 6.

That is if anyone ever decides to purchase an ad on my site.

[…] Performancing notified me that they’ve determined an ad price for my site: $257. That’s pretty good. If they can get that rate, I’ll probably leave the ads up - big graphics or no. […]
