I firmly believe that Clinton improved after 1994, and I hope that Bush will improve after 2006. I'm with the Democrats on the environment, heathcare and education, as I don't feel like those areas are suited to be stewarded by private enterprise. I've got a lot of respect for traditional Republican values. I agree with the values of small government and that fewer laws and restrictions mean more freedoms. I just don't see many folks touting these anymore. The NeoCons and the authoritarians that seem to have taken over the Republican party are so far to the right I can hardly recognize them as "Republicans" - but perhaps that is what the word means now. Over the last 6 years, for the first time, there have been times that I've been ashamed of the actions my country. Too many times. I can't believe how much damage has been done in such a short period of time. I’m generally a little left of center, but I do cross the aisle on various issues.
