I decided to try it out while writing our annual Christmas letter. It’s an interesting concept - I can see how creative writers would really like it. For anyone who has to reference source material or do research while writing (as I do when blogging), I think it is a little less natural.

    Despite my age, I did get to write a few papers on an old IBM PC running ProfessionalWrite on DOS 2.11 (or 3.0 if I was in a futuristic mood). Yes it’s not nearly as distracting… but I wonder how practical it is these days. Email, web etc. Just because you don’t want to be distracted, doesn’t mean you can ignore everything else.
