Alex - you should be able to configure individual feeds in NNW to be non-synced - that's designed specifically for the case where you have certain feeds behind your firewall that you don't want to sync.

I don't know off the top of my head where the setting is (on a PC at the moment), but if you shoot a note to support at newsgator.com, I'm sure they can fix you up...

Soon after you left feedlounge I too went to Google Reader which is by far the most complete online feed reader around. The problem for you would be your private feeds but you could always use V for your privates and use GR for your regs.

I switched from FeedLounge to Google Reader on October 3rd, and I've been very happy with it. Highly recommended.

The Vienna hotkeys are largely borrowed from NetNewsWire, just like the FeedLounge hotkeys are.

I too went to Vienna after FL, I like that some of the hotkeys/shortcuts are similar, etc. It helped make the transition a little smoother for me.

You have to quit NNW? I just did a refresh of the feeds (which I'm lead to believe causes a sync), and it'd be happy.

I still find the NewsGator sync not to be quite as good as the old .mac sync, and if it wasn't for the fact that a) I only use one computer now and b) it's for the odd time when my own computer is dead that I need the web reader, I'd go back to using the .mac method.

I've been using it since I cancelled my feedlounge account as well. Nothing complicated, but does everything I need it to do well...

I too would like to go back to a purely web-based reader, but have yet to find anything suitable. FeedLounge had the interface right, but has become incredibly unreliable and support is spotty. I'm not going to pay $5/month for something that doesn't work...I can get that for free. The interface was great, but it failed at its core responsibility, delivering the feeds.
