Okay this is what I did for the middle button (mouse 3/scroll wheel click) on Windows 7 64bit

1. Download the latest SetPoint from logitech for Win 7 64 bit

2. Once installed open it and go to the mouse tab, select 'Universal Scroll' (should be the default for the scroll wheel)

3. Under #2 Select Task, click the radio button for 'Other', there should be a popup

4. In the drop down menu select 'Menu Button' then click okay

5. Click 'Apply' and exit the app. It should be working now.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread, just adding my two cents.
Many thanks to Randomhelp. Great, perfectly working answer (for my XP install). This is the reason people do a quick Google search for a quick fix.

Matt or others:

I keep seeing people here or elsewhere who say they got the middle click to work on the scroll wheel and the search button, using Steermouse.

Well, I have steermouse 3.9, the latest OS X version, and the bluetooth MX 5500 Revolution keyboard mouse combination and I can't do those two things! How do you do it in detail?

I will mention that I'm using the built-in macbook bluetooth, not using the plug in Logitech provides.

Any help would really be appreciated.

Heres how! It works great too.

1. Open mouse programming console
2. Select scroll button
3. Click the 'Other' button
4. Select 'Middle Button'
Does normal scrolling and will act as middle button!

For more detailed instructions, go to the Logitech Website and search search:
Products: Logitech>Pointer Device>MX Revolution

you can make the center wheel click by changing the settings in setpoint. just set the wheel to switch between free spinning and click-to-click automatically and uncheck the box that says something like "enable manual switching" there is also software out there that lets you customize ALL the buttons on the mouse. I set my thumb wheel to f1 thru f3, and the side buttons to different f keys, and the center wheel tilt to f keys, this allows for many hotkeys for games.

I really like this mouse, it's a massive improvement on the generic obtical, cord one i had before. Just one slight probem is that I find it hard to hold down the middle button for extended periods of time which can be a little annoying in games like The Witcher and World in Conflict as this is often the "free look" function enableing you to pan the camera around using the mouse. Ive been looking for a way to bind the little "search" button just behind the scroll wheel to be the third button but no luck so far as Setpoint doesn't give you that option... oddly enough it will alow you to bind it as left click but not middle.

I did get the middle mouse scroll wheel to also work as the middle mouse button. For me, it was not automatically enabled by choosing the auot shift option on the mouse wheel tab. On the mouse buttons tab, I had to select the 3rd button, for the wheel, and select other. Then from the list I could select middle click as an option. Work perfectly now, and I love it.

people, it DOES have a middle click. there is a setting so fast acceleration of the middle button unlocks it into the smooth wheel mode, and then once you stop, it goes into clicky mode. The middle button will work as normal with this setting. This mouse is amazing, don't hate on it because you can't figure it out.

If you download the Logitech Control Center from their site (for Mac OS X) you enable the middle click, though it's not exactly straight forward.

First you click on the "MicroGearâ„¢ Precision Scroll Wheel", then choose "Configure SmartShiftâ„¢" Choose "Start in Click-toClick mode" and check "Autho-shieft to Free Spin when speed is:".

After that choose "Advanced Click" for "MicroGearâ„¢ Precision Scroll Wheel Button". "Click Type" as "Click" and "Button number" as 3.

There ya go. :)

You can go through and tweak all the scroll speed and acceleration settings to your liking, not to mention the other bazillion buttons this mouse has. I have to say this app really makes it hard to make any complaint about this mouse.

Alex: Would you mind updating the original post if you found this accurate, as I was almost turned away by your post, if it wasn't for the fact that I can't take no for an answer, I would've never tried to get this working.

I just got my mouse. I noticed as well that it did not have a middle mouse click. YOU CAN MAKE THE TOP SCROLL WHEEL map to middle click. Here is what I did.
I found uberoptions here:
http://www.mstarmetro.net/users/rlowens/
Download latest exe and run it.
Open setpoint
select MY MOUSE at top right
Under 2. select button click on 3 MOuse:3. Middle Button
Under 3. Select Task click other then selct Function Button
Then from the dropdown select Mouse:3.Middle Button click ok
I had also previously disabled Allow manual shifting between modes on the wheel settings page.

Hope this helps you.
