Crowd Favorite Internships

Posted in: Crowd Favorite, News

As evidenced by the recent quick growth of Crowd Favorite and lack of blog posts here due to busy-ness, things are going quite well for us. With the school year starting in another couple of weeks, we thought it would be a good time to create a couple of internship positions.

I’ve posted specs for two positions on the Crowd Favorite web site, a front-end designer/developer position and a back-end developer position. We’ll be allowing the interns to work on real projects and gain real world experience. It won’t all be coffee runs. ;)

We’re looking at these as ~20 hour/week positions at a $15-18/hour starting rate, depending on experience. At the moment the plan is to work with local candidates, but we’ll consider real standout remote candidates as well.

One thing we’re trying as an experiment is the “single URL” application form model1. You send us your URL, with as much or as little on the page/site as you like, and that is your resume/portfolio/job application.

I’m curious to see how this will work, both the application process and the internships. I remember my college job and I’m going to see what I can do about making this experience eclipse that. I think it will be a great opportunity.

I’m interested in Interships! However, I reside in Western NC attending Kaplan University at Fort Lauderdale, FL. Is it possible to complete this from anywhere? I have a virtual office.
