I finally watched Finding Neverland last night. Fantastic movie, Johnny Depp quite deserved his Acadamy Award nomination.
Interestingly, I think this is a movie I’d never have actually seen if it weren’t for Netflix. I’d heard great reviews of it from several people, but for some reason it just wasn’t clicking with me and I wasn’t that excited to watch it. If I was still going to the video rental store to get movies, I doubt I’d have ever chosen it over something else.
However, based on the good reviews I’d heard I stuck the movie in my Netflix queue a few years back, and eventually it bubbled to the top and arrived at my house. This is an interesting
feature
of Netflix - sending me movies I don’t actually want at the moment, but am glad I watched afterwards.

NetFlix is great. This same thing happens to me about once every other week and it’s usually a pleasant surprise.
NetFlix curbed my DVD buying addiction and opened my eyes up to a broader range of movies. It’s too bad their selection of HD-DVD’s is sub-par.

I agree. Johnny Depp’s Scottish accent was spot on. He is a consummate artist.

I found Netflix and similar services frustrating because of not being able to get what I wanted - I ended up down the video store anyway.
Neverland goes down as one of my all time favorites. A brilliant movie.

I saw the movie in theaters, but like you was not originally psyched to see it. But I’m a believer in Johnny’s acting, so I gave it a try…and he totally had me mesmerized.

I saw it rather by accident too - it was on, so I watched it and really enjoyed it. It was what made me decide maybe he’s not such a jerk and I watched some of his other stuff too

Hey Alex,
I’m a huge movie buff. Everyone I know has been using netflix forever, but its never really clicked enough for me to sign up for their service. I’ve always just bought movies to expand my collection. Your review has converted me to a netflix user though.
you should have been an affiliate, I would happily signed up through you.
Cheers,
Alex
