I've been using this superb MX mouse for 4 years. Each time I got the no-charge red flashing light I called Logitec - Useless!! So, I bought replacement mice on e-bay and used my old cradle and dongle. Worked fine each time for a year - 18 mo. Then repeat above proceedure. NOW, I see this forum.

Now I have 3 functioning MX mice!

+1 for the slam. Thought it was way crazy, but a single slam onto a pad of paper brought my mouse back to life.

Best forum advice ever.

Slammed twice or 3 times, but not working. Guess I was too soft. Anyway, opened up the mouse, and reseated the battery. Works. It seems when you are slam the mouse you actually move the battery inside in its internal craddle.

Actually the reason slamming works is because of a defective on/off switch located on the bottom of the mouse.sometimes just switching if on off repeatedly will fix it as well. If the mouse is turned off it will not charge If the switch is not making a good connection it will cause the red light to flash to notify you of an error and that the charging has been halted to protect your device.

Thnx, worked for me, too, for about 2 months before I had to do it again. For as much as my Logitech mouse cost I would really like a more high-tech (read, permanent) solution.

So if you're still not convinced -- just slam it. You slam it down like you would if you picked it up off your desk. Don't slam the button-side down, slam the bottom side that regularly sits on your desk.

Mouse is currently charging perfectly!
