PZ said: "You do realize that Wordpress automatically applies “nofollow” to everything in the comment section, right?

No one gets anything from typing in links"

Apparently that is not true anymore according to Matt Cutts in Google search engine. Nofollowed links, even though doesn't confer any value to the linker, does dilute the link giving value of the page. So the blogger gains nothing from nofollowing links in comments. Rather with a dofollow policy like Alex, you can get more valuable commenter.

Good for you. I think everyone should go to dofollow. People are too hysterical about the links they get in their comment sections.

On my most active site (which I put in the box this time), with a couple thousand hits a day, almost no one ever follows a link in someone's name. But, then again, I almost never get comments, so maybe I'm just jealous ; )

BUT, if you are using dofollow, then I can see where this would be very helpful.

I use DoFollow:

http://kimmo.suominen.com/sw/dofollow/

and there is a benefit - people can click the links!

You do realize that Wordpress automatically applies "nofollow" to everything in the comment section, right?

No one gets anything from typing in links, either in their user name or in the content of their comments, other than an occasional, very occasional, random visitor who actually clicks the name or link.

That's an interesting policy given the incoming links you get from the WordPress dashboard to a sometimes personal blog. ;)

What a coincidence I found this plugin in my WP dashboard. I started receiving comments from authors of commercial sites and they seem to climb up to my top commentators list. I've just done deleting some comments from those sites when I found this plugin of yours. I'm going to download it now. Thanks a lot!
