FavePersonal 1.1

We’ve released version 1.1 of our FavePersonal theme for WordPress (the theme you see on this site). This release includes the new 2.5 version of the Social plugin as well as updates to Carrington Core and other libraries and code changes to use new best practices added in WordPress 3.4. As a result, this release also requires WordPress 3.4 or later.

FavePersonal turns your WordPress site into your “personal hub” on the internet. You can post on your own site, pass content through to your Facebook and Twitter accounts, and bring the engagement (replies, Likes, re-tweets, etc.) on those platforms back to your own site. I’m overdue to discuss this in more depth – especially my integrations with Flickr (mainly for Instagram) and Pinboard.

I also think it’s worth pointing out that we’ve included Social in the theme in a manner that also allows it to be installed and upgraded as a plugin. As a result, all of our FavePersonal customers were able to upgrade to Social 2.5 immediately when it was released (they didn’t need to wait for the FavePersonal release that included it). I’ve been working on a post to discuss the :scare: right :/scare: way to include a plugin in a theme and hope to have that posted soonish as well.
