The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club (Portland, OR)

Posted in: Courses (OR)

While in Oregon for a wedding a few weekends back, we played the North Course at The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club. This is a beautifully maintained course with friendly and polite staff. Apparently the Senior PGA held one of their majors here earlier in the year.

It is a semi-private club with one of the two 18-hole courses reserved for the members while the public is allowed to play the other course. The driving range is split as well, with nice little pyramids for the members and buckets for the public. The range is a nice grass range with good targets.

The course was definitely challenging, but some holes let you get away with a shot here and there. The greens were fairly large and most had some subtle break in them. They were just recovering from being aerated when we played, but they played pretty fast. Some were damper than others which affected how well your approach shots held the greens.

This was a really nice course and experience at a reasonable rate. We’d definitely play here again.
