Green Valley Ranch (Denver, CO)

Posted in: Courses (CO)

I played Green Valley Ranch a couple weeks back. The weather made it quite an interesting day, it was nice and warm but extremely windy. The course is out towards the Denver airport so there is a bunch of open land and not much to break the wind. We had dust blowing in our face pretty badly dring the front nine.

The course itself was in decent shape. The carts have GPS in them, and it seemed to be accurate. Getting back to the wind, it was so bad that the roof blew clear off one of the carts in the group ahead of us.

There are a number of short par 4’s on this course. With the wind, I over-drove a ~320 yard hole with my driver and a ~305 yard hole with my three wood. If you go long on this course, you probably won’t find your ball - there isn’t much extra space.

The range facilities are decent, a small bucket of balls is $3-4 and there are nice undulating greens to practice putt on. A weekend round with cart and a small bucket cost about $65, which is more than I’d be willing to spend to play here again.
