  1. Current Swing (Video)

I videoed my swing this weekend for the first time this year. I’m over-cocking my wrists again, setting my feet too wide and diving at the ball a bit, but I’m hitting it really solid. Definitely some stuff to work on here.

  2. Heritage at Westmoor (Westminster, CO)

The Heritage at Westmoor is a course I play fairly regularly; it is the sister course of Legacy Ridge. It is a well maintained track (even in the winter) that has a bit of a links feel to it. The driving range is normally somewhat bare, but the short game practice area is probably the…

  3. McCormick Ranch (Scottsdale, AZ)

We played McCormick Ranch on our trip to Arizona this spring. We played the Palm course. The course starts out pretty wide open, with water coming into play on a number of holes. The front nine was very wet and the greens were not in good shape. They were slow and rather bumpy. On the…

  4. TaylorMade r7 425 Review

As I previously mentioned, I started using a TaylorMade r7 425 driver last weekend. I’ve been quite pleased with it so far. Specs: 9.5 degrees Stiff RE-AX shaft Weights in neutral, low launch (heavy by the face, light in the back) My previous driver was a Snake Eyes 600T that I got back in late…

  5. Playing it safe off the tee

I’ve discovered that no matter what club I hit off the tee, the difference between a good tee shot and a bad tee shot is simply a good swing or a bad swing. I can make a bad swing with a fairway wood, hybrid or iron just as easily as I can with my driver.

  6. Seventy Six

After breaking 80 for the first time with a 79 on Saturday, I managed a 76 on Sunday at Riverdale Dunes. I actually limped home with bogeys on 3 of the last 4 holes, and had a horrible putting day with 34 putts (could not read those greens at all). But I drove the green…

  7. MacGregor MacTec NVG2 Tour

I let myself get talked into buying a MacGregor MacTec NVG2 Tour driver at the golf store. It is the 9 degree loft head and has a Fujikara Speeder shaft. I used it for one round and returned it. This just isn’t the club for me. I had no feel at all of the ball…

  8. Seventy Nine

I broke 80 for the first time today, shooting 79 at Legacy Ridge. I shot 39 on the front with a birdie and two penalty strokes, and a 40 on the back with a bogey on 18 after a bad drive and some tree trouble. I had only a single double-bogey on the round and…
