I played my first good round of 2007 this afternoon, shooting 81 (40-41) at Ute Creek. Very satisfying, especially after a couple of rounds in the 90s when I couldn’t find the world with my driver in AZ.
It was a bummer to bogey a bunch of the par 5’s and find the water on 16 and 18, but it felt good to get the ball in play properly off the tee and make a few putts. I feel like I’m making some progress with the swing changes (less lunge/sway, shorter backswing). I’ll bring the camera out next time to check on my progress.
Alex, you need to be thankful that you live in a climate where you can golf this time of the year. There are some sweet courses in the Muskoka Canada area that I live, but of course they are buried in snow for a good chunk of the year. A little bit of Muskokan golf trivia to get out there; a local Nick Faldo design up here (called “The Rock”) is staying closed this year so they can redesign it. The reason … it’s too hard … I kid you not. It’s only a few years old. I played it last year and certainly found it difficult, but I think that was more likely due to my golf game and not the course
anyways, nice site. keep on making us jealous in the north.
