  1. It may not be true that 80% of success is just showing up, but not showing up will prevent success 100% of the time.

  2. Just learned there are people out there that don’t use the “week starts on Monday” calendar view. Savages.

  3. Colorado Mountain College →

A pretty cool case study we released last week on creating a WordPress-powered website for Colorado Mountain College.

This post is part of the thread: Crowd Favorite – an ongoing story on this site. View the thread timeline for more context on this post.

  4. Withings Activité →

This is definitely more than a little appealing. Unfortunately:

    1. It’s not shipping (yet)
    2. It doesn’t have a way of receiving notifications

I’d love to stop carrying a separate Fitbit and watch. My experience with the Pebble has shown me that being able to see notifications without pulling my phone out of my pocket is actually a nice feature.

    (thanks John)

  5. Ugh Fine, I’m Buying a Moto 360 →

I’m tempted by the 360, but I think I’ll probably pass on it – at least for now. That’s assuming people will figure a way to hack iOS support into is pretty quickly, otherwise it’s a non-starter for me.

  6. Text Editors

Yesterday I watched a colleague’s Sublime Text 2 crash repeatedly as he tried to navigate the search results in a large project. BBEdit‘s search (and edit in the results window) feature is a part of my normal development process. I think it crashed on me once about 8 years ago.

  7. Digital Design Leadership: Alex King →

I’m a big fan of good interviewers, so I was thrilled when Richard Banfield (CEO of Fresh Tilled Soil) asked me to sit down with him for his series on digital design leadership.

Richard asks some good probing questions about my experience in growing the team at Crowd Favorite, how I approach challenges, and our transition into the larger and more distributed post-merger company. I hope you enjoy it!

Runtime: ~19 minutes – and there is a text transcript!
