I get complaints from time to time from people who say they have trouble reading the text on my site. I’ve added a little style menu up in the upper right corner to let you choose a darker background and/or larger font.
It works in my browsers, let me know if it doesn’t work in yours.
Ah, the darker colors look so much better now. Thanks!
Yeah, I totally agree on the darker colors.
I’ve been meaning to set it up for over a year now… the task had a three digit number.
Unfortunately, it’s apparently stopping the pages from loading in certain browsers (Safari for one, though a refresh will get it to load), so I may have to turn it off until I figure out why.
I’m lovin’ it. (Grrr, damn McD ads!)
I like it. Too bad it doesn’t work for the comments popup windows…
Alex,
As one of the Chief Complainers, I say thanks. The light type/dark background works well. It would be nicer if the font size got bumped higher when clicking the font button – it is still a bit small (yes, I know I could do this from the browser).
Thanks for listening,
Tim
P.S. Verified ok on Firefox 8 on Win2K and IE 6 on Win XP.
Great job. Agreed, it would be nice to have it on the comments page. Works well in FireFox 8.0 on Win XP.
I forgot about the pop-up windows, I’ll get it working in those too.
Ok, it works in pop-up comment windows now. You may have to refresh your stylesheets.
Added a ‘huge’ font-size. No more griping please. 😉
I am running Firefox Nightly Build .8 from April 4th, and almost no javascript properly works in it, hence the reason that this probably doesn’t work.
Huge on dark blue looks beautiful to my aged eyes. Thanks! I owe you a glowing (and deserved) review of Tasks posted on the net!
Safari Problems
It seems that the little style switcher I added is really wreaking havoc in Safari. Visitors get a blank page until the hit refresh a half dozen times. I saw this myself initially in Safari, but now it works fine for me in Safari and I can’t reprodu…
Style Switcher Temporarily Disabled
The style switcher isn’t helping readability if people can’t click the links or see the site at all (in Safari).
I’m going to rewrite the switcher in PHP instead of the JavaScript I used from A List Apart. I’ve seen it work grea…
