I like that florescent bulbs are more energy efficient, and I like that they last longer (I certainly don’t enjoy getting on a ladder to change the bulbs in our entryway chandelier). However, I’ve tried just about every color/tone they offer and none of them come close to providing a reasonable natural light tone like a nice daylight incandescent bulb.
If you’ve found a compact florescent that doesn’t suck, please share the good word in the comments.
Have you looked the bulbs targeted towards photographic applications? They tend to be 5000K balanced to try and mimic daylight.

I found light bulbs at Home Depot designated as DAYLIGHT. I don’t remember the brand but should be common to all stores. It takes a while for them to get to full power (60W i think) but once they do the light is bright and very neutral. Sorry I couldnt remember the details. good luck.
I’ve tried the “daylight” ones at Home Depot. My wife calls them “prison lighting”.
The new LED Bulbs coming out with last 75 years. Its going to be so cool. The same company has a power source the size of a phone to run street lights. Google and eBay use the technology.
