After a wonderful honeymoon period with the TaylorMade r7 425 for a few weeks, I completely lost the ability to keep the ball in play with it over the last month or so. So much so that I sold it to a buddy of mine and bought a Cleveland HiBore driver (8.5 degree, Aldila NV 65S shaft) off eBay.
I had planned to buy the HiBore originally, but was too impatient to wait for it (1+ month order delay). So far the HiBore has been a much better club for me – I think in part because it is a little heavier.
With the HiBore I’m able to take a little off my swing to keep the ball in the fairway, or really go for it when I need to on a par 5. When I tried to do this (swing harder or softer) with the r7, I lost control of the club and didn’t have good results. The additional weight allows me to “feel” the clubhead through the swing.

I love my Cleveland HiBore XL 9.5
