  1. Cable modem down *AGAIN*

My cable modem is down again. It went out Friday night, came back for a few hours Saturday, and has been out since then. Very frustrating, they are coming out Wednesday to check it out.

  2. Around the web

Whoohoo! No more IE for Mac. The only thing I’ll miss is being able to paste tables I copied from the web into Excel. Hey Camino, Firebird and Safari teams, think you could add that? Whoops, nevermind, Firebird already does! So long IE, I won’t miss you.

  3. Volleyball

Played in a reverse co-ed 4’s grass volleyball tournament today, my body is tired from playing and from being out in the sun all day. I haven’t played in a grass tournament for about 3 years (I think). For a few summers, I used to play grass doubles tournaments fairly frequently before my ankle injury…

  4. More photos dev…

I spent some time this evening catching up on entering photos in my own database. During this time, I also added a couple of small features and tweaks. For example (if you are running photos locally) you can now select a photo in the folder you want to add using the file browse control and…

  5. Korean Translation

YaeYoung Oh who did the Korean localization of tasks for me sent me an updated version of his translation and also a Korean language file for PHP iCalendar as well. I reckon Monday’s release of tasks 1.6 (if you’ve got bugs, send ’em in) will also be the first release of PHP iCalendar to include…

  6. More Downloads

Another 275+ downloads today… if this keeps up, I might even get a donation! 😉 This post is part of the project: Photos. View the project timeline for more context on this post.

  7. Recurring tasks

I’ve gotten several requests for support for repeating tasks would for things like weekly backups, etc. I have this on my list already, but there are problems with it that I haven’t solved from a hierarchical perspective.

  8. Random Playlist

‘Random’ on 1600 songs is great. On my way to work this morning my iPod gave me this playlist: Vienna Teng – Lullabye for a Stormy Night(check her out, she’s great) The Commitments – I Never Loved a Man Hayseed Dixie – Centerfold Bob Seger – Against the Wind Toad the Wet Sprocket – Something’s…

  9. Known Bugs (so far) in b1

If you are ‘adding details’ to a batch of photos, it will continue to show the last photo even after you have added details to that last photo. This is fixed. If two people edit the same photo at the same time, a Resolve screen is displayed asking you to choose which data you want…

  10. Weekly Assignment Finalist

I entered this photo from Friday’s Giants game: for the topic ‘Ground Level’ over at the weekly assignment forum (free registration required) on fredmiranda.com. First entry in a month and whaddya know, I was chosen as one of the finalists. There are some really nice shots among the this week’s finalists. Go check them out…

  11. WordPress .71

I installed the WordPress .71 release last night. It is a bit faster as advertized, but not quite enough to make me upgrade just yet. It appears that the b2 hacks I’ve written that aren’t included yet in WordPress still work with it. I expect that will change when they start using Smarty for templating…

  12. 500 Downloads!

There were over 500 downloads of photos 3.5b1 in the first 24 hours. That’s amazing! So far, no bug reports have come in although I did find one. This is a good thing since I’ve made it my recommended download instead of the previous 3.21 release. I held off releasing the beta until I felt…

  13. First ‘wish list’ item received

I got my first gift from my Amazon wish list today, a year’s subscription to Golf Digest. This was a kind thank you for me adding the ability to post to a Moveable Type blog from tasks. Thanks James!

  14. Low on Oil

There are a lot of folks who can’t understand how we came to have an oil shortage here in America. Well, there’s a very simple answer. Nobody bothered to check the oil. We just didn’t know we were getting low. The reason for that is purely geographical. All our oil is in Alaska, Texas, California,…

  15. photos 3.5 beta 1

I’ve released photos 3.5 beta 1. This is the first release under the title ‘photos’ and it is a much needed upgrade to my photo database software, formerly titled ‘gallery’. I’m really pleased to get this release out there, I think people will like it. There are a bunch of changes in this release, here…
