I wish I’d taken the time to look for this a long time ago…

I don’t think it will work to pre-determine all the interactions that people will want.
Precisely. I want my OS to allow for 3rd party innovation – interesting new ideas come along all the time.

I’m trying this as my default search engine in Chrome, but I probably need to install a user stylesheet to clean up the mess of stuff they add at the top.

Some interesting tidbits here. (thanks NextDraft)

So glad to see a “reader friendly” publishing model succeeding.

That’s a pretty good idea. I’d choose a number a bit rarer than .5 though – why not go a few decimal places deep? Seems like a good candidate for official support and a corresponding documentation change.

I’ve been developing on 3.4 for a couple of months now. No reason to wait.

Looks like some very useful new features. I’m still not entirely comfortable with the built-in developer tools in Firefox or Chrome. I’m still using Firebug.

As an industry, we just aren’t sure how to solve some of these problems yet. We’ll try things, see problems, try more things, and eventually establish a set of agreed upon best practices. I expect at least a few more years of exploration before things begin to take coherent shape.

I’m trying hard to not jump to premature conclusions about sandboxing, but the lack of answers at this stage (and “changing” rules for the iOS App Store, etc.) would really concern me if I were an iOS or Mac developer.

I hope a bunch of you have the time to do this and pocket some cash. If enough people do it, business practices will definitely change.

Portion sizes have been growing. So have we. The average restaurant meal today is more than four times larger than in the 1950s. And adults are, on average, 26 pounds heavier. If we want to eat healthy, there are a few things we can do for ourselves and our community: Order the smaller meals on the menu, split a meal with a friend, or, eat half and take the rest home.
Portion control (along with changing some of the foods I eat) has been one of the keys for me to lose weight and keep it off. Cutting the portions in half at the beginning of the meal and planning to take the other half home are definitely good ways to think about this. Combine with this eating more slowly and/or giving yourself a break so that you can start to feel full, and all of a sudden the portions you are served most of the time seem crazy.
(thanks Jim)

When I was just getting started contributing to b2 (which became WordPress), Mike was exceptionally generous with his time. He reviewed code I had written, sent back improvements, and took the time to explain why. Thanks Mike, your help was invaluable.

A bunch of new stuff in here for me to learn about.
