I got an automated call from the county sheriff’s office today warning me about a grass fire that was burning just a few miles away from our house. According to the call, some folks nearby were required to evacuate – yikes!
I was quite relieved when I got a follow-up call notifying me that the fire had been contained.
Alex, was that in the Broomfield area?
Yep, just south of Broomfield.
Interesting, I saw smoke on the north side of Jeffco airport (was over at the mall). Not good news!
I stumbled upon your site quite a while ago and somehow wandered back. Cool to see another local blogger.
Yesterday’s fire was in an open space area where we take the pup to let her run off-leash. It looks like the fire was stopped very close to some of the houses out there. Definitely a little too close for comfort.
I stopped by the side of the road…
Whoa, I am surprised I didn’t see this from my office window. I work in an office building off the Church Ranch exit on 36, but I face west…
