Can someone explain to me why (most) companies don’t make their TV commercials available on their web sites? If they’re spending big bucks to get them on TV and in front of as many eyeballs as possible, why wouldn’t they want folks to be able to view them as easily as possible?
From time to time there is a good commercial that I want to show someone1, and it’s always a pain to track it down.
- Most recently, the Avis commercial with the 3 guys lip syncing to the Lumbajac tune. [back]
While we’re at it, why don’t they also publish the names and artists of the songs they use in commercials? Grrr.
[…] Alex King brought up a good point this week asking why don’t companies make their commercials available online? Then I saw a commercial for Visa that had a break dancing worm in it. So I first went to their website to see if it was available, which it wasn’t. My next trip was to YouTube to see if someone had posted it. Sure enough it was there. There are a few companies that make commercials for web sites and we are one of them. Sometimes companies will opt to use their TV spot which we also place on the site for them.We are one of the company’s that alsodo this.Only .03 % of the over 30 million web sites have video on it but new technology allows streaming (flash) video to put great video on web sites and survay’s show that people stay on web sites with video longer and that means more sales and better Company Image building. You are right If a company has a good spot it should be on their web page.If they dont have one get one made
Does anybody know who did this song? I would like to download it. Thanks
