I signed up for Crowdbooster on a lark a while back – someone probably linked to them on Twitter. I think I get a weekly digest email from them telling me how many followers I’ve gained/lost. This is a great example of a service that probably should have been “freemium” from the start (assuming they had compelling “upgrade” features) instead of offering free accounts and now having to try to get people to pay.
“booted”

They were freemium at the time I signed up, based on the number of accounts you wanted to monitor. At the time they allowed monitoring up to 3 total Facebook and Twitter accounts for a free account, and since then they’ve pared it down to 1 of each type.
I wonder if too many people were signing up for multiple free Crowdbooster accounts to get around the pricing, or if they just decided to focus on the more serious social media user.
