@alexkingorg Get off my lawn! #damnkids
@alexkingorg They also charged you extra if you forgot to rewind! Be kind, rewind!
@scotthack @alexkingorg Friend of mine had one of those rewinders in the shape of a racecar. Good stuff.
@alexkingorg Oh, the “good ol’ days” when patience was still taught in everyday life.
I had a similar thought as we were in the food court at Flatiron Crossing. I pulled out Shazam to identify a song Z liked… it was identified and added to my Shazam playlist in Spotify within 20 seconds. I explained the “back in my day” solution to music acquisition and he was unimpressed. 😛
@alexkingorg today, you can’t watch a movie because DRM, no longer in iTunes, only on Netflix, etc.
When men were men! And Blockbuster had late fees to shame us into being men.
Riiiiiight… Oh, and I bet you had to call people using a telephone that plugged in the wall ‘back in the day’ too. Suuuure…
@alexkingorg The modern version is not being able to watch something because studios haven’t allowed it to be available via iTunes/ Netflix.
@alexkingorg Back in my day you had to rewind the VHS tape before returning it to the video store or there was an extra fee.
I think I was there that day. As I recall it meant picking a movie that started with some letter towards the end of the alphabet since that would be the section where we would be standing in blockbuster when we gave up.
