Interesting tips from Eric. I’ve never tried to do anything in those kind of conditions.

I didn’t go to SxSW this year and didn’t really miss it; but Ethan’s advice is sound for just about any big conference.

Each kilobyte on your site should add value. Period.
Some great tips here – well explained (hopefully mostly common sense to those of us that do this for a living).

With Spaccerelli’s win, other customers may feel emboldened to take similar courses of action, and with no NDA binding him, Spaccerelli will be able to detail exactly how he won his case.
One can hope.

How about that? (thanks Shawn)

I ran into this about 6 months ago in some code I was working on. I think that calling
intval()on any non-empty string should return 1, not 0. Of course, the number of programming languages I’ve written isintval('none'). -
I’m pretty good about this most of the time. When I slip it’s mainly because my tools made it too hard (lack of multiple clipboards on iOS).

Bottom line. Should you do an accelerator?
Maybe. It’s really your decision. Techstars Boulder’s deadline is 3/16/12. Get on it.
But, if you get in, and decide to do it, then do it 120%. Work harder than everyone else. Push yourself and your team. Become great. Don’t be one of the forgotten companies.
Great post from Micah. As a mentor since 2007 I’ve been amazed at the value that TechStars provides – I highly recommend looking into it closely if you’re at all curious or interested.

To beat Facebook in the general social networking stakes, either Facebook has to get complacent, or your idea has to transform the social space entirely.
Some good notes from Charles here.
However what’s glossed over in the larger discussion of James Whittaker’s post is a commentary on how Google has been willing to harm their core app – what users really value – in the pursuit of Facebook; purity of search has been all but forgotten.

Useful tool for showing how a site would display on multiple devices.

Instagram and the much better camera were the big reasons I made the switch from Android to an iPhone 4.

Spoiler alert: floss first. My dentist was advocating flossing first to another patient but it seemed counter-intuitive to me. The reasons here make sense.

I love that Eric takes the plunge on new versions and posts his results. I’m sure I’ll upgrade to Lightroom 4, but I may wait a little longer to see how things shake out a bit first.

Nice summary of the specific, and general vulnerability that was exploited.

A good example of an app I might buy if I could demo it first. I’m using nvALT on the Mac right now and like its features but don’t care much for its interface. The idea of live preview for Markdown syntax except the current line where you are editing is intriguing as well.
