I can’t wait until our current cellphone contract (with Unicel) runs out. We only recently got text-messaging and the ability to receive email to our phones. And we still can’t send emails from our phones.
I actually broke my contract with Verizon last year to switch to Sprint and start using the Treo 300.
I also cancelled my home phone and Palm i705 service and went just with the Treo. This meant I made up for the cost of breaking the contract in about 2 months.
Sprint has the usual customer service problems, but I haven’t regretted the move at all.
I’ll definitely post my impressions. I think I know what to expect since I’ve been using the Treo 300 for a year and have read extensively about the 600.
I have this sony ericsson camera phone and it’s pretty damn cool. there’s this website where a lot of people upload pics from there campus’ . http://www.coolermobile.com , look for me, I have a blue t-shirt and blinde hair with that really hot girl !!
( i wish she was my girlfrirend)
The Treo 600 is really great. They really thought through the features. Kudo’s to Handspring/ Palm.
On the other hand there are some minor tweaks. Maybe its only me but it seems that the iSync Palm conduit no longer works properly with the 600 so, nice phone and such but if your a Mac user your back to the Palm Desktop for syncing…
Hello Alex,
I’m having an awfully hard time getting my Treo 600 to sync with iSync 1.2.1. and the Palm 4.1 software. I know it’s a lot to ask, but any advice on how you did it would be much appreciated. I’ve been at it for hours, and I know I’m no dummy….
This is in the various README files, but you have to install Palm Desktop 4.1, iCal 1.5.1, iSync 1.2.1 and the iSync Palm Conduit 1.2.1 in that order. Then go into the Palm Desktop Conduit settings, disable the Palm Address Book and Date Book conduits and enable the iSync conduit (if it isn’t already set up this way).
I had another person tell me it didn’t work, but after they followed these steps they were successful. Good luck.
Ok I also managed to sync my Mac with the Treo 600, but only for the address and calendar, other things on the Treo…just stay on it, whereas with PC, they all synced.
Any advice
I’ve found that installing the isync conduit disables the address book and calender conduits, which means you can’t say which data should overwrite this. I’ve tried every combo (including copying the conduits back as root) but to no avail. It seems that if you sync your treo with isync, the Mac will always be the master. Bad for me as I also sync with a PC at work.
Anyone found how to solve this?
I’ve had no trouble adding data to my Treo and having it sync back to the Mac.
If you want to use Palm Desktop and not iCal and Address Book, just disable the iSync conduit and move the old conduits back from the ‘Disabled Conduits’ folder.
[…] I’ve been really looking forward to this phone. I placed my order the moment I heard they were available and now received it less than a week later. The discount for existing Treo users is a really nice touch. The Treo 300 was the best PDA I’ve used and a decent phone, but the Treo 600 is improved in every regard I can think of. […]

Let me know how it goes, this might be my next cell phone.

I’m syncing the Treo 600 just fine with the latest iSync (1.2.1) and Palm Desktop 4.1.

Other than ‘check your conduit settings’ I don’t know what to say. It’s all worked from the start for me.
