- YAGNI is a term I was unaware of though I strongly believe in it.
- A pixel-perfect Safari skin for Firefox. Except the close icons for the tabs are on the right where the should be.
- Don’t believe your eyes – this is amazing.
- When to use Definition Lists.
- How to create unmaintainable code.
Make sure that every method does a little bit more (or less) than its name suggests. As a simple example, a method named isValid(x) should as a side effect convert x to binary and store the result in a database.
- XP Reloaded – is there a roadmap?
- When to use who and whom. Yeah, I looked it up.
- The 2004 Golf Lexicon. My favorites: ‘Empty a sleeve’, ‘Pete Rose’ and ‘Janet Jackson’.
- An open letter from a 9/11 widow to President Bush regarding his new TV ads. I saw the spokesman for the Firefighters condemning these as well.
- Bill Maher on ridiculous compromises. He cracks me up.

:chuckle: Whom really is dying a death, and it’s quite sad. It’s one of those words that you rarely hear used anymore, so it doesn’t even hit your grammar radar very often to guilt you into using it. I don’t catch mis-use of “who” as an object very often in speech, but I tend to catch it pretty regularly when I read it, and it drives me nuts.
Also, while I understand that “Whom would you liked to speak with?” is correct English, I prefer the sound of “With whom would you like to speak?” I think pre-positioning the preposition turns the ear to thinking that a question is coming before the voice of the question is pitched higher at the end.
[I should have majored in English.]
